Howell County Missouri School District
Howell County Missouri Schools are in abundance due to the area being so large. The county spans approximately 927.5 miles. The population for Howell County county according to the 2019 census is 41,117 with 23.9 percent of the population being under the age of eighteen. Numerous Howell County School Districts and Missouri schools are located throughout the county. Missouri School Districts vary in the school offerings. Smaller areas for instance do not offer course work through the twelfth grade. Due to this scenario, these students attend different school districts upon entering high school, however, tuition can be paid by the smaller Missouri school districts.

Howell County School Districts are Junction Hill c-12 serving grades PK-8, Fairview R-XI serving grades PK-8, Glenwood R-VIII serving grades PK-8, Howell Valley R-1 serving grades PK-8, and Richards R-V serving grades PK-8, West Plains R-VII serving grades PK-12, and Willow Springs R-IV serving grades PK-12. Additionally, some students who live in the Junction Hill School District attend Mountain View Birchtree R-III School District in Shannon County for high school due to close proximity. Many of the smaller communities in the county have smaller schools to serve their areas. The smaller schools provide services for PK through eighth grade. Upon graduation from eighth grade, students then attend larger the high schools of West Plains or Willow Springs. In some instances due to location, nearby high school options in different counties may be available as well.
