Howell County is located in South Central Missouri on the southern border next to Arkansas. It is surrounded by many adjacent Ozarks Missouri Counties which are Ozark, Douglas, Texas, Shannon, and Oregon Counties, and on the southern most border of Missouri, borders Fulton County Arkansas.

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the population for 2010 was estimated at 40,400 however for 2019 was estimated at 40,117.

Howell County Missouri Weather

Howell County gets all four seasons resulting in residents being able to enjoy the most beautiful landscapes of all seasons. Summers are hot and can be humid. The spring brings in rains resulting in good fertile grounds. Watermelons seem plentiful in the summer from the local farmers. Fall is a wondrous beautiful time of year in which the leaves of trees across the mountains begin changing colors and then dropping. Hunting is good in early to mid-fall. Hunters, however, that are wanting wildlife to traffic into their areas in December might want to get their food plots in early. As a result of the cold weather, the food sources for wildlife become scarce, resulting in the wildlife moving in order to find food. In summary, Howell County offers the joys of all seasons however mother nature can be fierce. Due to strong spring winds, we recommend not parking under trees.
